Trillium H2 Power Welcomes SB Energy’s Massive 9.2 GW Dispatchable Power Project Near the PORTS Site

Power LogoWe at Trillium H2 Power are thrilled to celebrate another blockbuster development accelerating Southern Ohio’s transformation into America’s premier energy hub. On February 19, 2026, POWER Magazine reported that SB Energy (the U.S. affiliate of SoftBank Group) has been selected to develop the Portsmouth Powered Land Project—a proposed 9.2 GW natural gas power complex near Portsmouth, Ohio. With a $33 billion investment, this project leads the first tranche of a landmark $550 billion U.S.–Japan trade and investment deal and is positioned to deliver world-scale, reliable dispatchable power for surging data center and industrial demand.

The location sits in the immediate vicinity of the historic PORTS Mega Site in Piketon—the very same redevelopment zone where Trillium Piketon, Centrus Energy’s centrifuge expansion, and Oklo’s nuclear campus are advancing. As the U.S. Commerce Department stated, this initiative creates “an integrated platform capable of supplying reliable, large-scale, dispatchable energy.”

This announcement perfectly complements the sustainable and dispatchable power we are building at Trillium Piketon. Together with SB Energy’s generation, Oklo’s nuclear, Centrus’ American-made nuclear fuel, and Trillium’s gas generation, the PORTS region is delivering true all-of-the-above energy security—creating thousands of high-paying jobs and attracting billions in private investment to Pike, Jackson, Ross, and Scioto counties.

The momentum on this historic site is unstoppable. Stay tuned for more updates as we move forward together. The future of American energy is being built right here in Southern Ohio—and we’re proud to be part of it!
