We at Trillium H2 Power are excited to cheer on another big win for Southern Ohio’s energy renaissance. On September 25, 2025, Centrus Energy Corp. announced plans for a major expansion of its American Centrifuge Plant at the former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant (PORTS) site in Piketon—right alongside our Trillium Piketon project. The multi-billion-dollar investment will boost domestic production of Low-Enriched Uranium (LEU) and High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU), creating 1,000 construction jobs, at least 300 new permanent operations jobs, and retaining 127 existing positions while supporting hundreds more across the supply chain.
This announcement reinforces exactly what we’ve been building toward: the PORTS site, guided by the Southern Ohio Diversification Initiative (SODI), is quickly becoming America’s premier hub for advanced energy manufacturing and clean power. Centrus’ U.S.-made centrifuge technology will supply critical fuel for the nation’s nuclear fleet and next-generation reactors—perfectly complementing our in making dispatchable, sustainable power to ensure American Energy Dominance.
As Centrus CEO Amir Vexler stated: “The time has come to restore America’s ability to enrich uranium at scale… investing in American technology, built by American workers.”
Together with Centrus, Oklo, Meta, and our other PORTS partners, we’re delivering real results: thousands of high-paying jobs, billions in investment, and true energy security right here in Pike, Jackson, Ross, and Scioto counties. No more relying on foreign supply chains—Appalachia is leading the way.
The momentum on this historic site is unstoppable. Stay tuned for more updates on Trillium Piketon as we advance forward together. The future of American energy is being built in Southern Ohio—and we’re proud to be part of it!
